It it time that we pay tribute to those who are the future of the sport of wrestling. So, today we honor and recognize those athletes through the Pee Wee Hunger Games and the Rumble In The Arena tournaments. The purpose of these series of tournaments is to educate the youth of our sport, to make it fun and enjoyable for you the spectator, and to build champions for life.
You, the spectator spend hours on end Saturdays and Sundays during the season almost every weekend traveling to wrestling tournaments. Shouldn't a tournament be more than just a tournament? Shouldn't your athlete be honored whether they win or lose? Shouldn't we be more concerned with the effort whether than the outcome? The Williams Training Academy is about making your child's face "light up".
The Williams Training Academy introduced this new tournament format several years ago with the Pee Wee Hunger Games to give coaches & parents the opportunity to connect and build the coach and athlete relationship. We do this by allowing you to use the 30 sec. coaching bread to correct the mistakes and exploit your opponent's weakness while capitalizing on your athlete's strength.
The Pee Wee Hunger Games was a huge success. The athletes loved the special touches that we added to the tournament. It was a different "day of competition". Our wrestling tournaments are more than just a tournament, it is an experience, an event, that you and your child will never forgot. You will be entertained!!
The Pee Wee Hunger Games and Rumble In The Arena names should be synonymous with building a hunger and passion for all who participate to keep them actively engaged and focused on the sport of wrestling as well as being good community role models. We recognize them not just for their accomplishments on the wrestling mat but also for being good stewards in the community.
This is just the beginning. We hope to continue to add new elements each year to keep these fresh and exciting! Sign-up and send us your child's story, it might be featured in our tournament brochure and /or website. Good luck this season, "May the odds always be in your favor".
